CONTEST RULES FOR THE BRUSSELS SHORT FILM FESTIVAL 2024 LOTTERY CONTEST

ARTICLE 1 – ORGANISATION AND DURATION OF THE CONTEST

The Brussels Short Film Festival, whose registered office is located at 1 Avenue Maurice, 1050 Ixelles, is organising a contest entitled ‘CONCOURS Loterie Nationale 2024’, whose winners will be chosen according to the conditions defined below. The contest will run from Monday, April 22, 2024, to April 28, 2024.

The competition is free of charge and open to any person, resident in Belgium or abroad, regardless of nationality, with the exception of all persons involved in the preparation of the competition.

The competition is limited to one entry per person. Participation is strictly personal and nominative.

Failure to comply with the conditions of participation set out in these rules will invalidate the Participant’s entry.

ARTICLE 2 – CONDITIONS FOR TAKING PART IN THE COMPETITION

To take part, all you need to do is:

1. Correctly answer the first question (by ticking one of the three possible answers displayed below the question). The correct answer can be found by consulting the programming tab on the bsff.be website.

2. Accept the organiser’s ‘General Data Protection Regulation’, by ticking the appropriate boxes on the online participation form.

3. Accept the present competition rules available on the bsff.be website, by ticking the appropriate box on the online participation form.

ARTICLE 3 – PRINCIPLE OF THE COMPETITION/ENROLMENT PROCEDURES

This competition takes place exclusively via our website, on the dates indicated in article 1. Each participant must meet the conditions of the game if he/she wishes to have a chance of winning the prize and duly complete the participation form available on the bsff.be website.

ARTICLE 4 – DESIGNATION OF WINNERS

The Organiser will designate the winners, from among all those who have registered, according to the correct answer given to question 1 and the date of registration of the online entry form on the bsff.be website (first come, first served principle).

ARTICLE 5 – PRIZES

Each winner receives 1x4 tickets for the National Competition screenings in Studio 4 at Flagey (i.e. 6 screenings in total), scheduled to run from April 24 to April 28, 2024. The value of a ticket is 7 euros. For a maximum of 40 winners and 160 tickets distributed. These tickets do not give access to the Opening Ceremony, which takes place on April 24, 2024, at 7 pm.

ARTICLE 6 – RECEIPT AND USE OF PRIZES

The Contest Organiser will only contact the winners by private message via e-mail and will inform them of the procedures to follow to receive their prize (tickets). No correspondence will be addressed to participants who have not won; only winners will be contacted. Winners must reply within 2 days of this e-mail being sent, providing their full contact details. If no reply is received from the winner within 2 days following the sending of this e-mail, he/she will forfeit his/her prize and will not be entitled to any indemnity, endowment or compensation whatsoever. In this event, the prizes will be awarded to a substitute designated for the screening concerned. Winners must comply with the present rules. Should they fail to meet the criteria set out in these rules, their prize will not be awarded and will be forfeited to the Organiser. To this end, participants authorize all verifications concerning their identity, age, contact details or the loyalty and sincerity of their participation. Any false declaration, false indication of identity or postal address will result in the immediate disqualification of the participant and the acquisition of the prize by the Organiser. The prize is to be used during the period indicated in accordance with the terms and conditions subsequently communicated to the winner. In addition, in the event that the Organiser is unable to deliver the prize to the winners, for whatever reason, the Organiser reserves the right to substitute a prize of equivalent value, to which all participants agree.

ARTICLE 7 – LIABILITY

The Organiser may not be held liable for the impossibility of contacting each winner, nor in the event of loss, theft or damage to the prize while in transit. Nor can the Organiser be held liable for any errors in the name, address and/or contact details provided by entrants. Furthermore, the Organiser declines all responsibility for any incidents that may occur during the enjoyment of the prize awarded and/or due to its use and/or its consequences, in particular the enjoyment of a prize by a minor, who remains under the full and total responsibility of a person with parental authority. The Organiser reserves the right, if circumstances so require, to shorten, extend, modify, interrupt, postpone or cancel the contest, without incurring any liability. However, any modification will be the subject of an amendment which will be posted on the website and sent free of charge to any person who has requested the rules. The Organiser declines all responsibility in the event of malfunction preventing access to and/or the proper running of the contest, notably due to external malicious acts. The use of robots or any other similar means to participate in the competition, whether mechanically or otherwise, is prohibited, and any violation of this rule will result in the definitive elimination of the creator and/or user. The Organiser may cancel all or part of the contest if it appears that fraud has occurred in any form whatsoever, in particular computer fraud in connection with participation in the contest or the determination of the winners. In such a case, it reserves the right not to award prizes to fraudulent parties and/or to take legal action against the perpetrators of such fraud.
