Nespresso Talents

In 2020, the Brussels Short Film Festival was the partner of the fifth edition of the Nespresso Talents-competition.
Since five years , the competition wishes to reward local talent that uses cinema to make a positive change in the world. In this logic, ‘Virtuous Circles’ was chosen as the main theme of the competition in 2020, or how a small gesture can create a positive and large change in the world.
A theme as original as the format as the short films had to be filmed in a vertical format.
The Belgian jury of this edition, chosen by the BSFF consisted of Olivier Masse-Depasse (director, winner of 9 Magritte in 2020 for his last film Duelles), Sophie Breyer (actrice, La Trêve) and Romane Pangrazzi (BSFF) awarded:
- 1e price: "Le Dernier Cadeau" by Corentin Clouet (€ 1500 and an invitation for the BSFF 2021)
- 2e price: "Empty Windows" by Joren Slaets (€ 1000 and an invitation for the BSFF 2021)
- 3e price: "Plastic" by Sébastien Baillou (€ 500 and an invitation for the BSFF 2021)
