On the way to the Oscars®

The Brussels Short Film Festival is an Oscars® Qualifying Film Festival and join prestigious international film festivals as Cannes, Berlin or Clermont-Ferrand!

From the 21st edition in April 2018, the winners of the Great Prize of the International and the National competition will be eligible for consideration in the Animated Short Film/ Live Action Short Film category of the Academy Awards® without the standard theatrical run, provided the film otherwise complies with the Academy rules.
We are very happy of this recognition : the best way to consecrate the high-quality of the competition and assure the importance of the festival as far as professional and international.
