Nkondi

Synopsis In Congo Free State at the end of the 19th century, inhabitants are used as slaves for the construction of railways. When one of them tries to escape but is killed, his spirit is reincarnated in a Nkondi, a mystical nail statue. He seeks revenge on his murderer, a soldier of the Force Publique. The chase leads to a magical world where Nkondi fights but ultimately loses his power. In the future, Congo is politically unstable. Rebels, led by a priestess, approach a corrupt politician in Kinshasa with cultural contraband. A Nkondi statue is detonated, after which chaos breaks out in the city.
