Lucie Zhang

Lucie Zhang has a rich French and Chinese cultural background. She developed her passion for cinema when she was in high school. At that time, she went to the local conservatory and took some drama training courses. She studied economics and management at the Paris-Dauphiné University and played in several short films. She played in Jacques Audiard’s Les Olympiades in 2021, which was in the Cannes official competition and presented in many international festivals. Her interpretation of a free and rebellious young woman was highly acclaimed.

Farnoosh Samadi

Farnoosh Samadi is an Iranian Director & Scriptwriter who graduated from Fine Art Academy of Rome, Italy. Her scripts include: More Than Two Hours, nominated for a Palme d’Or at Cannes and a Grand Jury Prize at Sundance Film Festival (2013), and The Baby, premiered in Venice Film Festival (2014). She codirected & scripted her first short film, The Silence which was nominated for a Palme d’Or at Cannes (2016). Her second short film, Gaze, premiered at Locarno Film Festival and was qualified for Oscars (2018). She is also a member of the Oscar Academy since 2018. 180° Rule is her first feature film, which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival in 2020.

Bahar Pars

Bahar Pars is an actress living in Sweden. She came from Iran to Sweden when she was ten years old. She played big roles in both plays and films. A man called Ove, in which she played the neighbour, was Oscar-nominated and she was nominated for the Guldbagge Awards for the Best Supporting Actress award. Her second nomination was for the film Maja Nilo (Laura) this year for playing Nilo. She always has her own special view on her roles. Besides acting, Bahar directs. Her short trilogy about structural racism had big international success and includes Ghetto Swedish, The Turk Shop and Donkeyland.

Antoine Wielemans

Antoine Wielemans is one of the singers and guitarists of the Belgian indie pop band Girls in Hawaii. They recorded five albums between 2003 and 2017, and after that, Antoine wanted to do something new, so he began a solo project, which he entirely composed, played and mixed himself. He withdrew himself to Vattetot-sur-Mer, in Normandy, to make it. He finished it in Brussels and his first album, Vattetot, released in 2021, offers an eclectic and melancholic journey in French. Girls in Hawaii is currently producing its sixth album.

Myriam Leroy

Myriam Leroy studied and taught journalism at the Université catholique de Louvain and then worked as a freelance for Belgian and French media. She wrote plays (Cherche L’amour, ADN), novels (Ariane, Les yeux rouges, Le mystère de la femme sans tête), short stories and podcasts (Tapis Bleu, La Poupée russe). She co-directed a documentary, #SalePute, and is now writing a series.

Bernard Payen

After having created several paper and online journals, Bernard Payen joined the Cinémathèque Française in 2001, where he has been in charge of the programming since 2011. He was in charge of the short films at the International Critics' Week (2005-2013), director of several films, he also continues his journalistic activities with the Court-Circuit magazine of ARTE and radio programmes.

Pedro Toro

Pedro Toro is an artistic director and cultural manager specialized in films, comics and independent publishing who graduated from the Complutense University of Madrid. Since 2005, he has been collaborating as a programmer and curator of exhibitions with the Alcalá de Henares/Comunidad de Madrid Film Festival, ALCINE. Since the 51st edition (2022), he is Artistic Director.

JURY NEXT GENERATION

Ish Ait Hamout

Ish Ait Hamou is a Belgian author and director. He began his career as an international professional choreographer before transitioning into writing novels. He also directed a short film adaptation of his third novel. He is currently working with his brother and co-writer/director Monir Ait Hamou on three feature films, and their first project is now in pre-production.

Coralie Amédéo

Coralie Amédéo has been working as a casting director for cinema and television for more than 25 years. She collaborated or collaborates among others with directors such as Daniel Auteuil, Stephane Brizé, Alain Chabat, Julie Gavras, Alexandra Lamy or Philippe Lioret. She also collaborates on directing actors on film sets.

Ben Vandendaele

Ben Vandendaele is a versatile producer, sales agent and distributor based in Brussels. He founded of two companies: the production company Bekke Films and the distribution company Radiator IP Sales, which films have been selected and awarded at multiple international film festivals. Ben Vandendaele is member of the European Film Academy and Berlinale Talents.

Aurélie Reinhorn

Aurélie Reinhorn is an actress and a director who learned theatre arts at the Conservatory of the 5^th arrondissement in Paris and then at the École de la Comédie in Saint-Étienne. She then directed several short films (Raout Pacha, Son Altesse Protocole) that won awards in many festivals. She is currently making her next short and is writing her first full-length film.
