Moritz Lehr

MORITZ
LEHR

Moritz Lehr is a curator for Interfilm Berlin, though his creative endeavours did not begin in the area of film or images, but in music. He has been playing in punk and reggae bands, has toured extensively as one half of an anti-folk duo and has played records to people for the better part of his life. Growing up in the weird mainstreamyness of the 90s, his relationship with cinema has been complicated (albeit joyful) until he began studying art, music and media and came in contact with short film which in it’s aesthetic and formal diversity as well as it’s DIY ethos reminded him immediately of what he loved about the music scenes he came from. Growing interested in questions of narrative perspectives, the contradictions of documentary approaches and essayist forms, he began working for different festivals before settling in Berlin where he is now, among other things, curator of the documentary competition.
