BEST BEFORE

At the Last All-Inclusive Motel, guests lounge by the pool, free from the stresses of the workweek and their daily schedules.
Nothing happens. Until a tapir—one of the last remaining animals of the Duregne era—checks into the motel.
As sand and smoke gradually invade the motel, the tapir becomes a catalyst for renewal, the embodiment of ecological memory.
It forces the motel owner to confront the destruction surrounding him and rediscover the possibility of life.

Aisha, a 75-year-old Palestinian woman, causes the disappearance of the kittens of a stray cat that had given birth in her home.
Consumed with guilt, she believes the best she can do for the grieving mother is to find her a new mate.
Along the way, Aisha not only discovers more about cats, but also comes across a generational shift in values and perspectives,
and the ways in which people project material concerns onto animals, mirroring the social and political differences within occupied Palestine.

in a sterile petrol station, and through a bottle with a charger.
Did We Forget Who We Are? is an intimate portrait of love, doubt and communication,
about how to move forward together when life itself seems to be standing in the way.

Paris, 1981: Pintilie’s voice echoes through a strained telephone line as a "committee of mediocrity" in Bucharest decides the fate of his masterpiece,
Carnival Scenes. Elvira, a quiet secretary, witnesses a surreal farce as the debate spirals into an abusive ban.
Years later, she finally watches the release only to realize she was the ultimate victim of censorship. The director himself purged her frames.
Pintilie blinked, and Elvira was cut out of posterity.

FILONZANA

On the threshold of future freedom, and against his cellmate's wishes, Pouca Sombra attempts to resist the frenzy of the riot surrounding him.

There is a slavic legend about a "Spirit of the Household".
This spirit, a sort of ghost, protects the family and lives behind the wood stove. It is said to be the reincarnation of a deceased family member.
In spring, my grandfather, my mom, and I go back to Bulgaria and reopen our village house in Yarlovo, frozen and empty. In voice-over, we reminisce about our earlier life.
Mom and grandad talk about communist Bulgaria, about rural life, of the times before emigrating to Belgium, a time when grandma was still with us.
I listen but feel disconnected. As our voices tell the story, I am looking for traces of our roots, bring the house back to life and mend it's fissured walls.
During this endeavour I start to wonder : Maybe the real ghosts in this house are us?

WHO IS SINGING ?

Today, forty years later, Sadije and Ganimete reunite again in a park in Prishtina, Kosovo, in the same spirit of solidarity, they recall the day their Afërdita was violently taken away for singing about freedom.
