The chase leads to a magical world where Nkondi fights but ultimately loses his power. In the future, Congo is politically unstable. Rebels, led by a priestess, approach a corrupt politician in Kinshasa with cultural contraband. A Nkondi statue is detonated, after which chaos breaks out in the city.
